MOUNTAIN BIKING IN THE DOLOMITES

MOUNTAIN BIKING IN THE DOLOMITES,
BREATHTAKING CLIMBS, THRILLING DESCENTS

mtb nelle dolomitiMountain biking in the Dolomites: relaxation, adrenalin o challenge?

Mountain biking can be all three and the mountains are the perfect place for everyone. Common denominators are new panoramas and scenarios for all fitness levels.

We offer mountain biking in the Dolomites at a range of difficulty levels: the easiest are suitable for families with children, too, and the most challenging are for the most adventurous and fit only!

Challenge yourself to steep climbs to talk about with your friends. And if you put your feet on the ground, no problem: stopping to look at Dolomite panoramas is always a great excuse! You can decide to go up on a ski lift and get your adrenalin rush and fun on the descents only or cycle along forest tracks to panoramic mountain dairies where you can have lunch in total relaxation.

Many of the mountain biking in the Dolomites itineraries offered here can also be done on foot. If you are interested in exploring the Dolomites on foot, take a look at our trekking page.

The choice is yours!

Our itineraries are split into four levels: OO Easy OO Moderate OO Challenging OO Only the brave.
Find out what these mean on the difficulty level page.

AROUND CORTINA

OO A panoramic tour around Cortina d’Ampezzo, through some of the oldest and best preserved villages. We will see the valley from each side, we will pass in fir and beech woods, meadows full of flowers surrounded by the mountains that embrace the village.

FROM CORTINA TO SAN VITO BY MTB

OO From a bell tower to another: a link, real and metaphoric, between two villages. It is a MTB tour for all the family along an alternative route to the cycleway. It’s a fresh idea also for the hottest days of the summer, the shade of a beechwood shields the sun.

POSPORCORA SADDLE

OO The best bench of Cortina d’Ampezzo waits for us on the top of the ascent. We travel along a panoramic century years old road to Posporcora saddle, where in 1915 there has been the first skirmish between the armies in this area.

LEROSA SADDLE

OO Rufiedo springs, a mystic environment where water erupts from mossy rocks. Lerosa saddle, wide alpine pastures surrounded by mighty stone pines, and then a deserved relax in a mountain hut.

STRONGHOLDS IN CADORE

OO Four different trips to explore the “yellow line” by bicycle, a fortifications system built before the World War One. Forts were built on strategic viewpoints and are connected with the valleys by good century years old roads, perfect for MTB.

MTB IN THE PALE DI SAN MARTINO

OO We will ride in a moon-like environment, without trees or grass, only stones and bare rocks, far away from everything.
If you are a good mountain biker this is a once in lifetime trip. If you are not so good, this trip is a good reason to train!

CLAUTANA SADDLE

OO We will pass through Clautana Saddle and go down following the “road of the Alpine troups” to the footprints of dinosaurs. Rommel, the desert fox, refined here his strategy of “battles of movement”: his soldiers moved quickly thanks to the bicycles.

FALORIA SUMMIT

OO 2 different options for Faloria summit, the muscular one and the freeride.

  • As big is the effort, as big is the satisfaction of cycling the top of a mountain.
  • A cable-car to the balcony and a long descent to Cortina.

THE GREATEST TRAIL OF THE WORLD

OO In 1995 this tour won the title of “The greatest trail of the World” organized by the American magazine Mountain Bike Action. We propose the original full version in three days, without or with the use of helps, like cable-cars or bike shuttle.
