ACE OF HEARTS TREKKING
The “Ace of Hearts” trekking (Herz-Ass) crosses mountains spared from mass tourism, we will feel shepherds, smugglers and hunters.
Villgraten is a small area of Austria, in Osstirol, which borders two Italian valleys: Val Casies and Valle di San Silverstro north of Dobbiaco. The name refers to both the valley and the mountain range. Looking at the map, you can see how the main mountains draw a heart, hence the name: Ace of Hearts trekking ( Herz-Ass , in German).
Villgraten is surrounded by iconic mountains, to the south we can see the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, one of the symbols of the Dolomites, in the North East the highest peaks of Austria stand out, such as Grossglockner and Grossvenediger. Furthermore, to the South East there are the Lienz Dolomites and the frozen peaks of the Aurina Valley to the North East. The view is therefore guaranteed, lakes, streams, pine trees and pastures will make us feel that we are far from the mountains of our home, not so much geographically, but geologically and climatically speaking. We will feel on vacation in an exotic location, even if we will be on both sides of the border.

How?
As usual, we have already thought both the peppery variants to add summits, and the honeyed variants to sweeten some traits; it is a trekking characterized by:

- * Tecnical difficulty: E – (T: Turistic, E: Hiking, EE: Expert Hikers)
When?
We currently don’t have scheduled the trekking yet, however we really want to do it again in 2025 (and 2026, …).
Where?
Meeting in Sillian, in Osstirol – Austria. Don’t forget your passport.
Those who prefer to arrive the afternoon before the trek will find numerous accommodation options in the various hamlets that characterize the valley.
The Ace of Hearts trekking has some stretches between Austria and Italy, we will spend the last night at the Bonnerhutte, at sunset and at dawn the enrosadira in the Dolomites will give a show.
How much?
We currently don’t have scheduled the trekking yet, therefore we haven’t the quotations. However it’ possible to evaluete the total cost around 500.00 € (guides, half boards and transfers).
Lunches, beverages and shower token are excluded.
