Piccola Croda Rossa: away from the classic trails<\/h2>\n

The Piccola Croda Rossa is the ideal destination for those looking for tranquility, Panorama, wildlife. Little known and not very frequented, while being in the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites. The access road to the top is not marked on the maps and only a careful eye recognizes it on the ground: this makes the excursion even more fascinating. An itinerary that will amaze you.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\"croda<\/a>The Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites is synonymous with careful management of the territory, beauty, unspoiled nature, animals that live undisturbed following the rhythms of nature. The excursion that we propose to reach the top of the Piccola Croda Rossa crosses the northern part of the Park and leads to the border with Natural Park of Fanes, Sennes, Braies.<\/p>\n

Spectacular landscapes and environments: green meadows where bovine graze, streams, karstic areas but equally rich in water and lakes, stone pines and prairies of high altitude where marmots and chamois live, until you reach the gravels and rocks of Piccola Croda Rossa, so loved by the ibex.<\/p>\n

Below us is the centenary Hut Biella and the green meadows of the plateau of Prato Piazza; in front of us the spectacular Croda of the Beco with its stratifications of grey limestone, to the south the mighty Croda Rossa and Val Montejela, a gem of valley created by the glaciers.<\/p>\n

Coming down from the Piccola Croda Rossa a short detour to go to taste the delicious sweets of the Biella hut is a must!<\/p>\n

Does the effort frighten you? You can split the itinerary in two days, spend the night at the Biella Hut, a building built in 1907, and the next day deal with the last section of the ascent.<\/p>\n
