Ra Stua and river Boite\u2019s springs<\/h2>\n

In Ra Stua we are in the heart of the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites: a territory skillfully managed and well preserved until the present day.
\nThe beauty of the landscape enchants, the calm and quiet that you breath make you want to stop for a long time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\"ra<\/a>The respectful relationship between man and nature that for centuries has been brought forward in these valleys, here we breath at every step. This ability to manage the territory in an attentive and responsible way, allows us today to enjoy its beauties.<\/p>\n

The name itself “Ra Stua” speaks of the ancient way of bringing the timber downstream, exploiting the stream of the river Boite: in the spring in fact a temporary dam called “stua” was set up here and the trunks were stocked before their run to the valley.<\/p>\n

Here at the edge of the meadows we see huge secular spruces, called \u201ccioce\u201d in the local language: deliberately left to grow and never cut to give shelter from the weather to the animals of the pasture. These trees are more than 30 meters tall and have a diameter of the trunk larger than a meter.<\/p>\n

Next to the Ra Stua Hut emerge ricks of a dismissed quarry dating back to 1.300, with whose stone centuries later the steps of the town hall were built. Solid red Ammonitico rich of fossils, the “ammonites” precisely, wich gives the name to this rock formation.<\/p>\n

Once we leave Ra Stua, we reach Campo Croce and the sinuous bends of the Boite river along a very quiet path, where we can easily meet wild animals such as squirrels and deer. The water of the Boite river emerges in little “valley”: but where does all this water comes from? To find it out you have to go to Foses<\/a>.<\/p>\n
